IGR has started a new series called ‘Sierra Leone’s Political Marathon’. The findings of this maiden edition, which focuses on the internal democracy of SL’s two leading parties, show a general sense of less inclusivity of the grassroots in decision-making. One big takeaway from this nationwide survey is that among 26 individuals rumoured as aspiring flagbearers in APC and SLPP, Mr. Shiekh Kamara, alias Jagaban of the APC, is the only individual with a 50+% endorsement of party members. None of the names in SLPP secured a majority approval. This leaves the ruling party's race wide open. See details in the report
